Our History
Colonial Carpet, Cleaning & Restoration Co. is the result of more than 50 years of Professional In-Home customer services.
Ed and Gloria joined the textile industry after the war, when woven wool rugs made in United States mills were machine weaved, hand sewn, bound or serged, and tacked down to wood floors and stairs.
In the 1950's, residential wall-to-wall carpeting began to grow in popularity and manufacturers started to produce tufted carpets for wall-to-wall residential installations. Wall-to-wall carpeting became a rapidly expanding market, and is still the standard in most homes today.
During the 1980's, Ed's and Gloria's three sons expanded their flooring business by including sales and installation of vinyl, hardwood and tile flooring.
Customers' appreciation for high level services, ever changing customer needs, and an increasing interest in maintaining a healthy indoor environment, again facilitated the expansion of in-home services to include cleaning and restoration services.
Wool rug cleaning, wall-to-wall carpet and upholstery cleaning, and hard surface cleaning, soon provided a foundation for water damage restoration and other speciality services now being demanded by CCCR customers. Total Restoration Services, including remodeling homes damaged by water ensued upon repeated customer requests.
Ed and Gloria's four sons enjoy a market wherein their tradition of professional quality service, as exemplified by their parents, remains paramount. They have each owned and successfully operated independent businesses in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Colorado for over 20 years.
